The Bastille Day French Festival of Melbourne is an annual event organised by Bastille Day French Festival Inc., a not-for-profit association. Bastille Day French Festival Inc. is committed to protecting an individual’s right to privacy. We are bound by the Privacy and Data Protection Act (2014 (VIC) which sets out principles regarding the protection of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we use and disclose personal information which we hold about you and the privacy rights you have in relation to that information.

What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it? 

We may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Name
  •  Email address 
  • Telephone contact number
  • Ticket details (entry type, V.I.P lounge, masterclasses….)
  • Company name / occupation / job title
  • Age or birth date
  • The products and services you have purchased or which you have enquired about
  • Credit card details
  • ABN [for registered Festival stallholders]

We may also collect some information that is not personal information because it does not identify you or anyone else.  For example, we may collect aggregated information about how users use our website or anonymous answers to surveys.

  • when you book tickets to Bastille Day French Festival events
  • when you register as an artist with Bastille Day French Festival

Contact Forms- Cookies

We may send a “cookie”, a small summary file (containing a unique ID number) to your computer.  This enables us to recognise your computer and greet you each time you visit our website without bothering you with a request to register and also enables us to keep track of products you view so that, if you consent, we can send you news about these products.  We also use cookies to measure traffic patterns, to determine which areas of our site have been visited and to measure transaction patterns in the aggregate.  We use this to research our users’ habits so that we can improve our online services.  Our cookies do not collect personal information.  If you do not wish to receive cookies, you can set your browser so that your computer does not accept them. COVID-19 Contact Tracing

In accordance with the Victorian Department of Human Services to support contact tracing, the Bastille day French Festival must request that each person who attends the premise for more than 15 minutes (including staff) provide:

  • First name
  • Phone number

Bastille day French Festival is required to keep a record of those details, and the date and time at which the person attended the facility. Records may be kept electronically or in hard copy. Records will be kept for 28 days. Bastille day French Festival will destroy these records after 28 days from the date of the service provided to the individual. This only applies to services where records are not normally kept, i.e. this is special record-keeping introduced only by the Directions. No health records will be destroyed for example, which have their own normal statutory periods for required retention.

Change of Modifications to this Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is current; however, it is subject to change if and when necessary. We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time and to notify all parties concerned by uploading an updated version on our website, and additionally sending out notification emails where required.
